Event Bartender

Urban Affair NYC is seeking a professional and experienced Event Bartender to help deliver outstanding guest experiences at off-premise catering events. Working closely with the Event Captain and Events Team, this role is responsible for bar setup, beverage service, and creating a warm, polished, and engaging atmosphere for every guest. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and specialty cocktails, along with a passion for hospitality and precision in execution.

Event Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the onsite Events Team to produce exceptional off-premise experiences
• Uphold service standards and hospitality best practices at all times
• Ensure the bar is properly set up, fully stocked, and visually aligned with event needs
• Break down and clean the bar area efficiently after each event
• Set a professional tone and lead by example in guest interactions and teamwork
• Support light food service duties as needed
• Follow all off-premise event standard operating procedures

Essential Functions

• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing, comprehension)
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely
• Proficient in basic math for handling drink quantities and payment systems
• Capable of working both independently and in a team setting
• Able to lift 30+ pounds on a regular basis
• Physically able to bend, stand, and walk for 8–10 hour shifts
• Organized, methodical, and detail-oriented in approach
• Responsive to direction and able to guide others when needed
• Motivates team culture with creativity and a positive attitude
• Adaptable in fast-paced and high-pressure event environments
• Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and variable schedules
• Capable of working extended shifts as needed
• Adheres to all company policies and complies with state and city laws

Experience & Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as an Event Server or Bartender in catering or a hospitality setting
• Solid understanding of catering service operations and guest service standards
• Proficient in event roles such as bussing, tray-passing, food service, and bartending
• Experience with off-premise catering logistics and setup
• Knowledgeable in a wide variety of cuisines and beverages, including wine, beer, and spirits
