Driver Team Member – Urban Affair NYC
Urban Affair NYC is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Driver to support our catering and event operations. This role is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of food, beverages, equipment, and supplies to and from events throughout the New York metro area. The ideal candidate is organized, punctual, and comfortable navigating city routes while supporting our Operations and Kitchen teams as needed.

Key Operational Responsibilities
- Safely transport food, beverages, and supplies for off-premise catering events
- Ensure all items are packed and loaded accurately and efficiently into the vehicle
- Drive company vehicles to and from events across the NYC metro area
- Plan and follow mapped delivery routes
- Set up drop-off catering deliveries as needed, including light client-facing interaction
- Assist with packing and unpacking items before and after events
- Ensure catering props and kitchen equipment are returned in working condition
- Report any damage, repair needs, or equipment shortages
- Follow all local driving laws, company policies, and standard operating procedures
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly vehicle maintenance checklists
- Always operate vehicles safely, professionally, and legally
Essential Functions
- Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension)
- Clean driving record and valid Class D license
- Strong knowledge of NYC streets and traffic patterns
- Experience operating commercial and non-commercial motor vehicles
- Experience with warehouse systems preferred
- Attention to detail and a team-first attitude
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
- Spanish language proficiency is a plus
- High school diploma or GED required
- Physically able to lift 30+ pounds regularly
- Capable of bending, standing, and walking for 8–10 hours per day
- Organized and efficient in managing logistics and supplies
- Comfortable giving and receiving direction
- A morale booster who inspires others through professionalism and effort
- Adaptable in fast-paced environments and variable schedules
- Available for nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours as needed
Experience & Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in a driver role, preferably in catering or a similar industry
- Proficient in technology systems, including Microsoft Office and Excel
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) required
